About

Founded in 2025, Megacity Projects is an independent nonprofit publisher and advocate of visual art, literary journalism, and civic storytelling dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices. A megacity is more than a population statistic—it’s a cultural ecosystem shaped by extremes: inequality and innovation, identity and instability. Based in Los Angeles and globally engaged, we work closely with artists and writers to develop and share stories that illuminate the contradictions of urban life, from unseen labor and cultural resistance to gentrification, beauty, and belonging.

Our current publishing projects include the annual Megacity Review, collaborative zines, and artist monographs. Partnering with local artists, galleries, bookstores, and educational and cultural institutions, we also support archival projects, and host literary readings and events.
